THE IMPACT OF THE SARS-COV-2 PANDEMIC ON COMPANY'S SECURITY
Context
Covid-19 had a very strong and worldwide impact on both the economy and society. The impact will certainly be serious and have yet to be determined.
Portuguese society responded very positively to the challenge: the way it received and interpreted DGS And Government recommendations as well as the ones given by Security Forces and Services, are the full proof of it.
However, the activities of certain economic sectors show never before seen scenarios of company closures or operations reduced up to 90%;
The ones that were not closed have implemented remote work, or have altered security standards in their operating procedures (Security and Safety) or even radically changed their production processes.
Companies have supported their structures in the digital transformation which has evolved from a strategic choice to an imperative for survival;
New technologies such as temperature measurement, control through facial biometrics, and new health and safety measures have been implemented.
And last but not least, the most important: people. Social confinement has isolated society for one month now, leading to a number of Lay-off cases that are near 1 M. This is something never seen before, something that profoundly changes human behavior either socially, economically, or psychologically.
The world is different today, except for the positive impact all this has had on the environment.
The SARS-COV-2 Pandemic poses many and diverse challenges to society, companies, and particularly to their security. These are enough reasons for an interesting debate among the expert speakers at this 3 days' Conference: Web to along its 3 days;
